Hey, I joined this website to specifically ask you a few questions. I wanted to paint on a purse for a GF, but I've never tried it. It's a leather purse.

Did you buff it with acetone beforehand? Or did you just spray Gesso and move on from there? What materials did you use? I think I see oil based markers on there.

Please reply soon.

PS - The purse you did looks great!

sorry about the big delay. but what i usually do is i primer the purse or area i want to paint with acrylic white paint, any will do even the ones at the 99 cents store. I do the first coat with a little water mixed with the paint and let that dry. Then another coat with less water added and after that one a final coat with no water added at all. It will make a pretty good solid background to mess with. then i use spray paint and paint markers. The ones i use are called deco-colors. Theres a lot of other ones that are good to, but make sure they are opaque. as i said before sorry for the delay i havent logged on here in awhile but if you have anymore questions i promise to answer sooner lol

I had the same question, lol, but the paint markers you're using are they oil based or water based? And does it last long on the shoes or does it chip off? Cause I was planning on painting on some plain converse. Btw, I'm a big fan of your work ;)
